The Infinity JX has had its fair share of potential issues over the past eight months. First it was a recall due to the potential for the fuel gauges to display inaccurate information. Then, earlier this year, there was another recall due to the possibility of sensors not properly detecting passengers in order for the air bags to deflate.
Now, most recently, another recall was issued due to potential brake issues. The recall was issued by Nissan Motor Co. The recall includes certain Pathfinders and Infiniti JX crossovers. In total it includes roughly 19,250 vehicles.
The issue is that due to improper casting, the front brake torque member may be weaker than intended. This means the brake torque member could end up cracking or fracturing, which could make it harder for a driver to brake. Of course, anything that messes with the braking system also greatly increases the chances of getting into an accident.
The vehicles potentially affected by this weakened braking system include those Pathfinders and Infiniti JX vehicles built between Dec. 3, 2012 and Jan. 29, 2013. Those with these recalled vehicles can reportedly get the brake torque member replaced, if deemed necessary, for free.
For Tennessee residents, while this certainly affects those driving these recalled Pathfinders and Infiniti JX, the recall also highlights the fact that there are dangerous and defective products out on the market. These issues can lead to motor vehicle accidents, which in turn can mean serious injuries and even death for unsuspecting motorists.
